Roof repairs, Gloucestershire

The client had an outbuilding where they were experiencing water staining on a ceiling, and it was suspected that it was due to leaking gutters, but on inspecting the roof, I determined that the insulation had been put in the incorrect place and had caused condensation to occur on the underside of the lead sheet, so because of the way it was built, the lead had corroded prematurely from the underside, and the staining wasn’t the result of water ingress, but extensive condensation.

We determined that most of the roof structure was rotten and we had to strip the entire roof, we had to repair part of the roof structure, replace the supporting deck and reconfigure the detailing of the drainage outlets before replacing the roof covering.
